Carolyn Tucker, MS, LPC
Buckhead, Conyers, Kennesaw
Carolyn’s mission is to help people heal and grow by giving them tools to cultivate personal power and authenticity in their relationships with themselves and others. Carolyn believes that life is a constant flow of spiritual experiences: for her, lying in her hammock watching the full moon with her children, listening to Iron and Wine, and swimming in the ocean all bring spiritual renewal. She believes laughter and optimism can do more for a person than all the lost days of pain and resentment in the universe. She also believes that having a trusted counselor in your life can work miracles, helping clients see things they never would otherwise, and helping them discover the path their souls are meant to follow.
Carolyn takes her job as a psychotherapist very seriously. She considers it an honor to be a confidante and to help clients find their answers. She is not only focused on helping her clients address “issues” but to help them advance spiritually and to help them develop their own intuition, learning to have a strong sense of trusting themselves on their own path. She also offers life coaching for anyone who finds themselves stuck, hurt, or confused in any facet of life. Life Coaching is also ideal for the positive-thinking, introspective seeker who wants a vibrant, growing relationship with the universe and themselves.
Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She works with individuals, couples, and adolescents. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach, tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Carolyn approaches her work from a mystical perspective. She has invested much time receiving training in cutting edge modalities, as well as training in time-tested traditions such as shamanism and using the tarot to identify presenting archetypes. She maintains ongoing membership in the Depth Psychology Alliance and frequently updates her training with their offerings. She has a special interest in using energy healing in her work. She is able borrow from each to provide a specialized treatment to meet her client’s needs.
Carolyn received her MA in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2010. Her early experience consisted of working with juvenile sex offenders, juvenile substance abuse clients, and clients in the juvenile justice system. She also worked to develop a method of delivering augmentative reality services to veterans suffering with PTSD. She has worked with the developer of a specific form of guided imagery/energy work and offers workshops on how to utilize energy in the clinical setting. She has delivered services in a wide variety of venues, from sitting on the side of a lake with an adolescent, via Video Chat, to a Medicaid clinic, to her own InMind office.
She chose to have an overarching focus on trauma and anxiety, which has equipped her toolbox to enable her to work effectively with adults, couples and adolescents, and to treat a wide range of topics, from marriage and divorce issues, trauma and anxiety that manifests in many different forms, LGBTQ issues (support groups offered for LGBTQ adolescents and young adults in InMind’s Conyers office), grief and the issues that affect adolescents. Her recent continuing education has focused on addiction and co-morbidity, and the treatment of trauma.
When she is not working, Carolyn loves to listen to live music of any kind, to hang out with her children, to spend time laughing with friends, to travel, to read and to learn just about anything, and to creatively express herself through writing, painting and other mediums.
