Maureen Grady, M.A., L.M.T., CST-C, LAPC, NCC

We live in a world where traumatic events abound. People who experience trauma attest to its profound, enduring impact on our minds, hearts and bodies. Trauma increases our risk for a wide range of illnesses, from substance abuse, emotional shutdown, depression, or suicidal tendencies, to physical issues such as heart attacks or other physical blockages. Treating the underlying trauma, though, opens up the possibility of relief, renewal, and transformation. Maureen helps patients move through emotional and physical blockages, transforming their lives so they can experience greater freedom and joy.
Maureen brings over 30 years of experience in manual somatic bodywork to her mental health counseling practice. She began studying under the personal tutelage of Dr John Upledger, D.O., founder of CranioSacral therapy in 1989. Dr. John’s groundbreaking work in somato-emotional release has inspired Maureen to apply her thirty years of experience in integrative healing modalities in the field of body, mind, spiritual sciences in a holistic approach to healing trauma. She works with people who have experienced many types of illness and pain, both physical and emotional. Her patients have ranged in age from two hours to ninety-eight years. In her counseling practice, Maureen offers high quality body-mind-spirit psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families in a safe and supportive setting, facilitating the exploration of a wide range of life’s issues and challenges — emotional, interpersonal, and developmental. Maureen has specific expertise in treating substance abuse, and she is a trauma informed counselor.
Maureen believes that her role as a therapist is to show up with skills, openness, and self-care, led by the inherent wisdom of the client who so bravely shows up to do the work of self-exploration. She provides the space, the presence and willingness to be the container for healing. The intertwining of the known and the unknown is the basis of her work; the goal of the therapy is to bring the client into awareness and self-realization through the therapeutic relationship.
Maureen’s background includes an M.A. in Human Development, an M.A. Mental Health Counseling, and expertise in the field of somatic trauma and integrative healing techniques.
